This is the One my Soul Loves

God made us for Himself and He gave us many Earthly experiences that shadow the reality of who we are.

Our purpose is not merely to enjoy our human lives but to actually become one with the divine destiny that awaits each of us. For out of everything He made, we are the ones He, "So Loves."

But more often than not we look for our purpose in other people’s eyes. Which is quite limiting.

Our souls were made to walk with God and yet we have settled for just being suitable companions for each other. This is good but not completely satisfying.

It is no wonder then that when we are allowed to create our own stories we tell about the love we crave. We invent heroes and creatures that sweep us off our feet because even though we know it is fiction the ache throbs less when we are reading and watching someone be loved selflessly, attentively, protectively, faithfully, passionately ect.

Here I've made a list of the attributes that we often assign to our fictional lovers and I have compared this list to Who the Bible tells us God really is.

My hope is to help you see how loved you are in this moment. Especially those of us who feel alone and less than because of what we have been force fed concerning earthly romance.

The truth is even in the most fulfilling human relationships we will inevitably be hurt. Especially if we are looking for all our needs to be met within those earthly connections. God's invitation to us is that we cross the threshold of all human relationships confident of how completely loved we are by the One Who made us...Who loved us first.

This confidence is better than all the magic mirrors combined.

“I found Him whom my soul loves. I held Him and I would not let Him go."

Song of Solomon 3:4
